Hinano Kurahashi is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E in Kunugigaoka Junior High School.

Appearance

Kurahashi has short, wavy orange hair and olive-brown eyes (peridot green in the anime). She has a more petite frame than most of the girls in Class 3-E.

Personality

Kurahashi's personality is best described as "yurufuwa" (a person who is warm, gentle, and relaxing). She is an energetic and positive girl and is always seen with a smile on face regardless of whether she's trying to assassinate Korosensei, or whatever else. She's an animal and nature lover as shown in Chapter 56. She was also noted to be a "reliable assistant" for the group of boys who are on the path to becoming "sleazebags." This stems from the fact that she has older siblings who are all boys and as a result can handle even the sleaziest talk. She is a very soothing and calming person and is described as being innocent and genuine. She is also good at making money, particularly being able to assess the price of the stag beetles she was hoping to capture and sell and at the end of the manga managing to get parents to pay her handsomely to take their kids on nature hikes.

Etymology

Kurahashi (倉橋, Kurahashi): Kura (倉, Kura) means "warehouse" and Hashi (橋, Hashi) means "bridge." Her surname is also the name of one of the 47 ronin of feudal Japan.

Hinano (陽菜乃, Hinano): Hi (陽, Hi) means "sun" which may be a reference to her cheerful personality, Na (菜, Na) means "vegetable" and No (乃, No) refers to the Japanese possessive particle "no" (の, "no").

Plot

Like the majority of Class 3-E, Kurahashi debuted in Chapter 1; however, she wasn't properly introduced until Chapter 56. In Chapter 56, she revealed to be good at biology as she held knowledge on what types of beetles would be in more demand and which ones wouldn't.

Seven years after the graduation and assassination of Korosensei, Kurahashi makes an income by conducting nature adventures for kids using the Class E mountain.

Abilities

Knifework: She is 3rd best ranked student in knifework along with Rinka Hayami and Toka Yada on the girls side.

Biology: Kurahashi has extensive knowledge in Biology as noted by Nagisa and has even been shown to be able to interact with dolphins during the Summer Vacation arc.

Relationships

Irina Jelavić

Along with Yada, she's one of Irina's favorite students. They are the only the students who know about Irina's past and true personality. During Valentine day arc, she declare war of affection against Irina that she will steal Karasuma-sensei from her at the first chance she get much to Irina's confusion about her statment.

They are often seen together, and seem to be close friends.

Taiga Okajima

Kurahashi and Okajima share a prominent introduction in Chapter 56 and were paired together during Korosensei's "Nuru-nuru Assassination Test of Courage.

They are commonly shown together, and she's the student who attempts to interact with him the most. She has a crush on him.

• Her favorite kind of guy is "the one who can catch any kind of wild beast." The character book clarifies that by that she meant Karasuma, and that all of the students of the class are aware of her feelings for him.
• She was called "Flouncy Stag Beetle" (ゆるふわ クワガタ, Yurufuwa Kuwagata) in chapter 91 while class 3-E training in using code names. The one who wrote her codename was Maehara.
  • The possible main reason Maehara call her with such codename is because his attempt to steal White-Eyed Stag Beetle which was a rare Mountain Stag Beetle from her was failed during summer break on Chapter 56.
• In the "Girls you're interested in" ranking made by the boys in Chapter 19, she was ranked 3rd, with her appearance listed as her best point. In the anime, the comment next to her vote tally said "Calming; strikes charming poses".
• In the art rankings of Volume 5, she was placed 1st among the female students. Korosensei comments she has an acute color sense, along with great skill for making handicrafts.
• In the popularity poll of Volume 12, she was the highest ranked female student, at 8th place.
• The character book reveals that, since she grew up surrounded by her brothers, she's used to how guys behave and as a result she has no fanciful thoughts about them.
  • However, according to Graduation Album book, she a only child and no mention of other siblings in her family.
• Her past club before joining Class E was the Biology club.
